The Town Players in Newtown auditions THE HAUNTING by Hugh Janes (based upon the ghost stories of Charles Dickens) on Tuesday, September 11, from 7-9 PM at the Little theater.

Auditions for JOSEPH and the AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at Curtain Call will be Sept 11 from 7 to 10 PM
Adult  casting is open to all non-union actors and actresses ages 14 and up.
Children’s Choir -must be between the ages of 9 and 13.

Performing Wed, April 25 at the Warner Theatre is Godspell, Jr.
The best loved musical by two-time Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz comes to life onstage featuring the dynamic students of the Warner Theatre’s Summer Arts Program! Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score, parables from the New Testament come humanly and hearteningly to life. Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades and vaudeville, GODSPELL JR. is a unique and positive production with a non-denominational message of kindness, tolerance and love.

Musicals at Richter performs Disney's Beauty and the Beast Thursday August 16 through Saturday the 18'th at 8:00 PM.
The third season of Musicals At Richter's popular Summer Youth Musical Theater Workshop, is the youth version of the perennial hit Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
This "tale as old as time" follows the adventures of Belle, a bright young woman who finds herself imprisoned in the castle of a mysterious beast. With the assistance of the castle's enchanted staff, a delightful and tender romance develops between these two unlikely friends and Belle soon learns the most important lesson of all — that true beauty comes from within.

High school students are eligible to try out for Barefoot in the Park August 11th, at Center Stage Theatre 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Auditions for Wait Untl Dark will be Tuesday & Wednesday, August 14 & 15 - 7pm to approximately 9pm in The Dressing Room Theatre.


Auditions at the Wilton Playshop for: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Directed by Mat Young will be 7:30 Sunday, August 26 and Monday, August 27

Seeking all ages: Actors, Singer and Dancers for a Community Production of Meredith Willson’s Miracle on 34th Street The Musical at the Seven Angels Theatre.
Audition by APPOINTMENT ONLY- August 29-30, between 6 and 9 pm  Compensation for some roles.

Learning the craft at Danbury High school

Once again, as they have for more than 20, years the students of Danbury High school demonstrate where the next generation of theater professionals and theater patrons will come from. Another school musical, this year: Hairspray, has opened and moved the capacity auditorium to their feet. More than 100 students, facility, administrators and alumni have built a team which brings excitement and entertainment to all who experience the event.

The Danbury High School Production of Hairspray is replete with acting, singing and dancing, to a live orchestra, all of which fills the auditorium. The talent is first rate and your time in the theater is well spent. The show itself encourages toe tapping and this production does everything to facilitate that goal. It isn’t every day you have the opportunity to listen to so many voices blending with a live orchestra so well.

Theater is the ultimate team activity. Students from all walks of life come together. No part of a production can be done by itself. It takes everyone working together to get to a successful opening. Everyone has their part to do in order to be a success and it is obvious that those on stage, back stage, in the pit and unseen in a multitude of support rolls do it right. And that satisfaction in a job well done radiates for all to see and feel. The lesson learned: of working together to meet a common goal will last a lifetime. These experiences will be the basis of so many adventures to come. And audiences, especially other Danbury school students, get an economical exposure to performing arts. Some may aspire to be a part of something like this when they have the opportunity. It is community building at its finest.

If you have the time, get to Hairspray. If you can't, try to attend any local school production. You do not have to know someone who is involved to be entertained. I urge you to get out and see how well today's young adults work together for something which not only makes them proud but will make you happy too.

The Landmark Community Theatre holds auditions for Footloose at the Thomaston Opera House on May 6 & 7 beginning at 6 PM in the Thomaston Opera House.

Auditions for SWINGING ON A STAR (The Johnny Burke Musical) at Playhouse on Park will be Sunday May 6 between 4 and 6 PM, Movement / Dance auditions will be 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Theater auditions March 5

Auditions for Musicals at Richter will begin March 8th and run through March 11 for their summer season of Nunsense: The Mega Musical, Brigadoon, and Bye Bye Birdie. A separate children’s audition will be held for young performers ages 7-15 on Saturday, March 10, also at The Melrose School.

The Summer Theatre of New Canaan (STONC) a professional regional theatre company is
casting Equity and Non-Equity actors for its summer musicals, My Fair Lady and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

An additional Open Call will be on Sunday March 18.
A Joseph... Children Choir call is March 10, & March 31 for Children 8-12 years old.

At the Warner Theater is Disney’s Aladdin Jr  February 25 at 2 & 7pm; February 26 at 2pm PLUS morning a performance on Monday February 27 at 10am.
Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! All of your favorite characters are here in this stage adaptation of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course, the Genie. Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, audiences' spirits will soar with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score with songs including "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me" will certainly make this musical a favorite for many years to come!.

GREENS FARMS ACADEMY PRESENTS Guys and Dolls March 2 Through March 4 at the Westport Country Playhouse.
Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls takes place in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City. The characters have become part of theatre lore: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.

Everything works out in the end, as we travel from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City. Funny and romantic, Guys and Dolls is ideal for audiences and performers of any age.

The Brookfield Theater for the Arts holds auditions for Moonlight & Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson and Directed by Tom Sheehan on Sunday, Feb. 19 from 4 - 7 PM

The Warner Stage Co. holds auditions, by appointment only, for all rolls in Gypsy on Monday, February 20 at 7:00 pm for Children 9-14, and at 8:00 pm for Adults/Ensemble. Then again on Tuesday, February 21 at 8:00 pm for Adult roles and Ensemble.

Join our modern day young hero as he uses his imagination to become the famous Jack from the book he is reading. As he spins the tale of trading the family cow for three magic beans, we watch the giant beanstalk grow and let our imaginations soar as our hero climbs through the clouds to meet an ill- tempered giant, find fabulous treasures and more adventures than you can shake a stalk at.

The Westport Country Playhouse presents Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, on Sun., Jan. 29, 1 and 4 p.m., for ages 4-10.
Poor Jack. He's got to use his wits to save himself from the terrible Giant, but a host of familiar fairytale characters keep messing up his plans-and then there's that annoying Stinky Cheese Man! The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales deconstructs the tradition of the fairy tale. Characters slide in and out of tales; Cinderella rebuffs Rumpelstiltskin, and Goldilocks meets the Three Elephants. Nothing is quite the same as you remember it.

A popular, pampered actor - modeled after Coward himself - is busy making preparations for an extended overseas tour with his devoted secretary Monica. His plans are complicated first by Daphne, a beautiful stage-struck ingenue, as well as an absurdly eager and aspiring playwright, who insist on his attentions. When his wife, his agents, and his numerous admirers arrive, Garry is hard pressed to escape what quickly spirals into a hilarious farcical game of cat-and-mouse.

At Hartford Stage is A Christmas Carol  continuing through December 30!
Hartford Stage brings the magic of Dickens’ heart-warming classic to life in this Connecticut holiday tradition! The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, the heartless miser who discovers the true meaning of the holiday season after a Christmas Eve haunting, features all of Charles Dickens’ beloved characters: Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit and the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
