Entertainment for the Hoildays December 22


Tonight in the Palace Danbury is Holiday Rocks at 7:00 P.M..
Benefiting the United Way, featuring the music of Pete Herger & Friends, Phoenix Tree, Rex the King, Kristen Laine with George Hanlon & Q Gelderman, and the Midnight Blues.

The Seven Angles Theater plays their final performances after Christmas of The Best Christmas Variety Show Ever!   
As the story goes... It’s Christmas Eve and the night of the 50th Annual St. Francis Christmas Variety Show. And this year, excitement is high because the show is going to be on National TV. Unfortunately, a blizzard is... well you get the idea.

At the Downtown Cabaret Children’s company is the final performance of Frosty the Snowman December 29th at noon.  
It's a new, "Glee"-full take on the tale... Can Frosty keep from melting, while helping his new friends, and hang on to his magic hat long enough to make a few wishes come true? Filled with familiar songs, old and new, you'll be singing along from start to finish!
 
On Friday, December 31st it is First Night Danbury!, Beginning at 4:00 all over Downtown!

Theater for Children December 16


At the Downtown Cabaret Children’s company is Frosty the Snowman   
It's a new, "Glee"-full take on the tale... Can Frosty keep from melting, while helping his new friends, and hang on to his magic hat long enough to make a few wishes come true? Filled with familiar songs, old and new, you'll be singing along from start to finish!

At the Ridgefield Playhouse is The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance’s The Nutcracker  on December 18.
Join Marie as she dreams of Sugar Plum Fairies, dancing Snowflakes and a battle between the evil Mouse Queen and her beloved Nutcracker Prince. 

Also on the 18th is The Nutmeg Ballet's Nutcracker performed at The Bushnell.Enjoy yourself this yuletide season as you travel with young Clara to the enchanted Land of Sweets.  The Nutmeg Ballet brings Tchaikovsky’s traditional version of The Nutcracker back to The Bushnell, delighting audiences young and old.  This holiday favorite brings to life toy soldiers, dueling mice, princesses and sugarplums – a delicious treat for the child in all of us.

Theater for Children December 9


The Ridgefield Playhouse presents their Holiday Spectacular on Dec 11.
Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte is back as she once again performs and directs in this exciting holiday performance that showcases local and regional talent. A wonderful holiday show for the entire family that has become a Playhouse tradition!

Season's Greetings from the Westport Country Playhouse on Sunday, December 12 at 1pm and 4pm.  
This is a special event with magic, music, audience participation and special effects! Produced by TheatreWorks USA, Season's Greetings features a magic elf, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, toy soldiers and magically appearing white doves - all set in a winter wonderland.

Theater auditions for December 7

Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris AUDITIONS Tues., Dec. 7, 7 pm at The Wilton Playshop.

The Ridgefiled Theater Barn holds auditions for Parade on December 12 from 7–10 pm with call-backs Monday, December 13.

Playhouse on Park announces OPEN AUDITIONS for teens for The Musical "HOMEROOM" on Monday, December 13, from 6:00pm-9:00pm 


The Trupers Light Opera holds auditions for The Bat or Die Fledermaus on December 12th and 13th at the Union Memorial Church in Stamford.

The Seven Angels Theater is updating their Casting files, and are presently accepting resumes and head shots for actors, singers, and dancers ages 10 and up. Submissions will be kept on file for the 2010-2011 Season. Casting is for Equity and non-Equity shows.

James and the Giant Peach, a brand-new musical, continues at The Norma Terris Theatre, in Chester, part of Goodspeed.
When James is shipped off to live with his wretched aunts, he longs for a real family and a new home. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe will perform at the Westport Playhouse on Sunday, November 21, at 1pm & 4pm For Grades 1-7.
