Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Macrelmint Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking - or Pippi for short - lives by herself with a horse and monkey in an old abandoned villa. Her father is a pirate, her mother is in heaven, and she is the strongest girl in the world.

Closing at the Downtown Cabaret Children’s Theater is Goldie Locks
Welcome to the BIG TOP CIRCUS. A world full of magic, and wonder awaits as we meet the stars of the circus, the Clowns, the Old Lion, The Giraffe Sisters, Goldie Locks, and of course, The Three Bears. Our bears sing and dance to a brand new tuneful score that will have you humming and dancing along. Goldie Locks, our escape artist, is the great niece of Uncle Houdini, who owns the circus. Goldie Locks is not happy that the bears are the stars of the circus, and when she finds out that her uncle is giving the circus to her on her 18th birthday, she causes quite an upset. She begins to take over by invading the bears' dressing room. She eats their food, sits in their chairs, and even sleeps in their beds! The animals call a meeting to decide how they are going to get back at Goldie Locks, but the wise Old Lion convinces them all that nothing will ever be gained by anger. Goldie Locks, who thinks she can get out of anything, creates a new act, but the first attempt at escape goes horribly wrong. In spite of her cruelty to them, The Bears come to her rescue. Goldie Locks sees the error of her ways, and vows never to be selfish again. She gives the Bears their starring billing back and the circus goes on to delight young and old once again.

Playhouse on Park will perform I THINK I CAN in June.
Becky Watkins has an acute case of "I-don't-think-I-can-do-it-itis." Luckily, Becky's sophisticated house cat and personal adviser, Professor, recognizes her symptoms and leads her and your audience through a magical adventure. Becky becomes a Fire Chief, a Lion Tamer and finally President of the World! Audiences will have an abundance of fun through participation and song.
Recommended for pre-school through 3rd grade and runs about 45 minutes.

"Urinetown" at Danbury High Now: May 6 and 7

"a bad title... That could kill a show pretty good", to quote Little Sally.
With the opening of "Urinetown, the Musical", Danbury High School has once again shown what can be done when diverse people get together to reach a common goal. The evening is a complete delight. We were able to laugh and enjoy with hundreds of fellow citizens. I urge everyone to get a ticket and see this show. You don't need to have a student in the production to enjoy it. The quality is more than what you get from the best community theater. The acting, singing and excellent dancing is more than you might expect from 'high school'.

Theater is a team
Danbury schools are fortunate to have such a good theater program. Theater teaches self confidence and team work. No other school activity calls on so many  diverse backgrounds to come together for a common goal. Everyone must put aside all differences to achieve the production. If any part of the team stumbles the entire endeavor stumbles. The comroderie is priceless, and the memories last a lifetime. There is no one "sitting on the bench" in the theater. An audience listens to the actor, hears the musician, and sees the decorated set pieces with just the right lighting to complete the mood. But the theater experience is even bigger than that. Movie credits are long and that type of participation is also part of the theater. You have heard winners at the Tony Awards and Golden Globes describe their casts and crews as family. These are the experiences which are theater. These are the experiences which are so precious to our children and found flourishing in Danbury high school.

Education is more than passing tests. Education is being able to make your way through life contributing to society as you go. One of the things which makes a community strong is a good school system and one thing which makes a school system good is keeping all students engaged. Danbury is fortunate to have such a diverse high school population and equally fortunate to have its diversity engaged. The Danbury Board of Education, and administration are to be commended for supporting this essential endouver. This activity has fortunately found important patrons in the high school administration. As long as they continue to support this team and learning experience they deserve our support and thanks.

Thank you to the scores of performers, crew, and other support people who brought this performance to us. Your hard work and dedication shows and is appreciated. The City of Danbury is better for having you as part of our community. Continue to break a leg, May 6 and 7 in the Danbury High School auditorium.
