The Darien Players present Madcap Mabel: A Staged Reading and Film Event on May 20 & 21, 8 PM May 22, 2 PM. It is the first ever bio-pic featuring silent screen actress Mabel Normand and her wild ride through 1920’s Hollywood. The show presents the screening of a film fresh off the festival circuit along with a live staged reading, Q and A session, and a meet-and-greet.
The Brewster Theatre Company, Arm Chair Actors on May 25th will read a full length play, scenes, or a selection of one acts plays. Plays are usually chosen by the group coordinator; however local playwrights are also invited to share their original works with the group. This is a great opportunity for writers to hear their words expressed out loud. The Armchair Actors meet 7 pm at the Brewster Public Library.
The Pound Ridge theatre company’s Second Sunday Play Readings series presents FAKE Written and Directed by Jim Gordon on June 12, 2011 at 2:00pm.
Featuring original plays by local playwrights, Admission is free for this series and you are invited to Stay after the plays for wine and cheese and a talk with the actors and playwrights.
