Performances for or by Children & young adults

At the Ridgefield Playhouse is Seussical The Musical Presented by Lighthouse Youth Theatre November 20 at 2pm and  6pm  
Based on the works of Dr. Seuss, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, extravaganza! All of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters are brought to life. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family and  community are challenged and emerge triumphant in this touching story.

At Playhouse on Park is Bunnicula  Now through November 20
A dancing cat, a howling dog, and a vampire bunny. The perfect pet combination for any family. It’s a dark and stormy night and Chester (the family cat) and Harold (the family dog) sit waiting for their owners to return home from the movies. When the Monroes finally get home, they come bearing a surprise: they’ve found a bunny in the movie theater. But this is no ordinary rabbit… this is the extraordinary Bunnicula. Meet the cast in the lobby after every show.  
The musical runs 1 hour, 45 minutes, and is recommended for ages 6 and up

At the Hartford Children’s Theatre is Hairspray November 18 – November 27, 2011performed at The Wadsworth Atheneum
This Pop Rock Musical is rated PG.  It's 1962, and Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire - to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star, but she must use her newfound power to vanquish the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate a TV network - all without denting her 'do!
The performance runs 2 hours 15 minutes.

Downtown Cabaret Children’s Theatre, performs Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, weekends November 13 through December 28, at 11 and 1:30.  
Once upon a time… as the classic fairy tale begins, a beautiful Snow White. A beastly Stepmother, a poisoned apple, a charming Prince, and 7 Dwarfs to protect her. All in that Cabaret Style.
