A Pantomime in the British style! And we should make it very clear: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MIMING IN BRITISH PANTOMIMES. None whatsoever. Imagine American musical comedy with vaudeville routines. Once upon a time… as the classic fairy tale begins, a beautiful Snow White. A beastly Stepmother, a poisoned apple, a charming Prince, and 7 Dwarfs to protect her. All in that Cabaret Style.

At Western Connecticut State University, the Opera Ensemble presents in the Ives Concert Hall Amahl and the Night Visitors, December 9 at 8 p.m. and December 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Also at Western Connecticut State University, the Department of Theater Arts presents A Christmas Carol, December 10 at 4 p.m. and December 11 at 3 p.m. in Berkshire Hall.

The Westport Country Playhouse presents GrooveLily in Striking 12 on Saturday, December 10, 4pm and 7pm
Striking 12 is the concert-with-a-story, band-is-the-actors GrooveLily secular holiday show that put the band on the map of the musical theater world. Co-written by GrooveLily and Rachel Sheinkin, Tony award winner for The 25th Anuual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The Westport Country Playhouse presents A Season of Miracles on Sunday, December 11, 1pm and 4pm
A Season of Miracles by Pushcart Players is a collection of holiday tales from different cultures including Christmas, Kwanzaa and Chanukah. Crafted and set to music with the timeless
tone of each classic piece, this magical presentation is designed to warm the hearts and perhaps change the perspective of young audiences as they think about the true meaning and spirit of the holiday season. As for miracles? They are within us all and at the heart of each story, known as the gifts of love, kindness, caring and sharing.
